I know you guys don’t need any tips on how to use a cut off saw right? But every little bit helps. Here is a quick list of things to consider when using a Stihl or Husqvarna saw.
Grip The Saw Appropriately
While cutting, grip the rear handle with your right hand and the front saw handle with your left hand. Keep a tight firm grip to maintain maximum control of the saw
Balance! Make sure you have a strong foothold and solid balance on the surface before you start cutting
Adjust the blade guard accordingly to match the rear section with the material being cut. This will protect you from debris from the cutting action
When cutting and working on your project, be sure to never cut above shoulder height. Stand on an elevated platform to make high cuts and always cut down
Cutting The Material
If kickbacks happen, be sure to stand parallel to the diamond blade instead of directly behind it
As you begin to cut into your material, push the saw, applying the cut at full throttle and full speed gently until the cut is finished
Safety First
Use common sense, always keep a distance from the diamond blade while the cut off saw engine is running
Never force the saw. Make nice easy straight cuts. Pressure from side angling or attempted side cutting can cause serious damage to the blade and potentially be dangerous
Overall, operating Stihl or Husqvarna saw safely just takes common sense. Be sure to read all of the operators manuals and practice safety on the job!
